WW2 RAF Red 5A/2337 And Green 5A/2336 Signalling Lamp B Fronts Filters In A 5A/4819 Spares Box
This is a real find, an original pair of WW2 RAF Red 5A/2337 And Green 5A/2336 Signalling Lamp B Fronts Filters In A 5A/4819 Spares Box
The fronts (labelled No. 11 in the above photo of a Signalling Lamp B: 5A/2334) are placed in a lovely dovetailed wooden box painted in typical RAF grey, and are still wrapped in their original brown waxed paper. Part of the paper on the red filter is slightly ripped giving a tantalising glance inside of the complete assembly in 'as new' condition.
The box comprises 'non-return' catches and two small knobs on the sides to all for attachment of a carrying strap. Lined inside with green felt, and has 2 compartments for the red and green fronts. In good condition with a few scuffs and scratches commensurate with age and storage.
Approximate Filter Size:
- Diameter: 13.5 cm
- Depth: 3 cm
The filters and/or wooden box have the following markings:
- Air Ministry Arrow
- Fronts Spare
- Box 5A/4819
- Red 5A/2337 (5A is the RAF stores reference for Electrical Ground Lighting)
- Green 5A/2336
- Assembly Complete
- QTY.1
A great little collectible for those whom love RAF Ephemera.
We also have a WW2 RAF Aldis Morse code Signalling Lamp B 5A/2334 in its original grey wooden box.
