This Vintage Ever Ready UK Bullseye Bulb Pocket Torch In A Blue Covered Metal Case is wonderful!
In very good, intact, cosmetic condition with a few small dents, slight loss of pale blue covering, and discolouration commensurate with age and use.
Dating to the 1940s/50s, the design originates in the late Victorian period as a vest pocket lamp. I'm not sure what battery type was used and have been unable to test it or establish which parts of the internal mechanism are missing.
The bullseye glass, approximately 4cm in diameter, has a bulb holder under the lid. Opening the hinged metal base, imprinted Ever Ready, reveals the battery compartment. An ergonomic chrome sliding switch is located on the side.
It measures approximately 12.5 cm x 7cm x 2.5 cm including the bulb.
A nice little display item for those of us whom love bullseye bulb torches!
Very little damage to the blue covering. Absolutely no corrosion anywhere. A few minor dents here and there. Considering its age, in wonderful condition. Will be great to source a battery and see it shine again. A thing of practical beauty!
