WW2 Marconi 365B Marine Transmitting Morse Key By MIMCo
This is a WW2 Marconi 365B Marine Transmitting Morse Key By MIMCo, Serial Number 9242. It was manufactured in the early 1940s by the Marconi International Marine Communication Co. Ltd (MIMCo) of Chemlsford, UK.
Approximate Dimensions: WHD: 18.8cm x 10cm x 13.5cm
The key has an ebonite button and brass base. Originally, it would have had a grey painted brass housing but these are often missing as they made quite handy ashtrays!
In good condition with surface blemishes and scratches commensurate with age and use.
Comprising a shorter arm than the 365A, and with three connecting blocks, the 365B model was fitted with two coils, two capacitors and a resistor to assist in key-click suppression, and had single change-over contacts. This particular morse key is the higher spec version with roller bearings instead of a sleeve.
The 365B transmitter key was often used with e.g. the Marconi Oceanspan radio system as seen in the image below.
