The Aerial Tuning Unit No.11 would have been used in conjunction with a C13 Station radio, (not included), which was used as a ground station or in vehicles superseding the C12 and WS19 on which it is based. The tuner matched the 70Ω set output to rod/aerial wires located adjacent to the C13 set or, remotely, if connected via a 70Ω coaxial feeder with an antenna adapter box.
NB: See appended image of a C13 radio set with a red arrow indicating the position of the ATU No. 11.
