4069A Microphone Plug For A 630A or STC 4021 Apple and Biscuit Microphone
This is a vintage, metal, 4069A Microphone Plug And Desk Stand For A 630A or STC 4021 Apple and Biscuit Microphone.
Not only is the 4069A plug difficult to find, this is the only desk stand I have seen for this type of microphone. According to its previous owner, an elderly gentlemen whom worked for the BBC, it was used in a BBC outside broadcast van.
Approximate Size:
- Base Width/Depth: 15.4 cm x 15.4cm (~6")
- Overall Height: 22.6 cm
The stand and 4069A plug are in fairly good cosmetic original condition, with a few surface scuffs/blemishes/loss of paint commensurate with age and use. The jack plug at the end of the wire is badly connected with exposed wires.
Originally sold as an accessory for use with a Western Electric Omindirectional 630A Microphone. These mics were known as an Apple & Biscuit, Ball & Biscuit, and Eight (8) Ball. They were also sold in the UK by STC (Standard Telephone & Cable) as model 4021.
The 4069A Plug and stand are sold on their own but we also have a Leevers and Rich BBC Microphone Baffle/suspension ring , used by the BBC in conjunction with the Apple and Biscuit Mic, available to purchase in a separate listing.
For illustrative purposes, I’ve included an image of the Apple & Biscuit microphone with the 4069A connector, and an original 1940s advert for the cable. The microphone and advert are not included in this sale.
