1950s Boxed Wells Brimtoy Tinplate Clockwork The Wonder Car
This wonderful looking toy is a 1950s Boxed Wells Brimtoy Tinplate Clockwork The Wonder Car.
This particular tinplate car comes in the green colour way and is in excellent condition with a few surface blemishes/paint loss mainly from direct contact with the box. The cardboard box is intact with slight discolouration and creasing. It comes with the original winding key and is in working condition.
Approximate Car Size:
- Width: 13.8cm
- Depth: 5cm
- Height: 4.7cm
The car, made by Wells Brimtoy, England, is based on the German models made by Schuco and Dux. It has no maker's mark.
The base is black, similar to Schuco models, with a chrome radiator, wheels and windscreen. One of the wheels is black and is part of the 'mysterious' mechanism that supposedly prevents the car from running off the table!
A great toy for collectors, it is not suitable for young children.
