Vintage Anglepoise 1227 Wall Mounted Polished Chrome Lamp With Black Flex
This is a really nice Vintage Anglepoise 1227 Wall Mounted Polished Chrome Lamp With Black Flex. This type of lamp was used extensively in factories and hospitals, and can be fitted to the wall via the black cast iron mounting bracket.
The paint has been stripped back to polished chrome in this particular example as the original paintwork was too bad to keep. There are several dents in the shade (which have proven very difficult to photograph), and the shape is also slightly distorted.
It has been wired with black braided flex, and fitted with a modern UK plug to ensure that it is electrically safe and energy efficient. It has also been successfully electrically tested (PAT).
It would suit all sorts of rooms in the home, in addition to the office and workshop.
For over 70 years, Anglepoise has created table lamps and table lights that are now British design classics. The quintessentially British three-spring 1227 design was invented in 1935 by the renowned engineer, George Carwardine, and the model is still going strong today!
