A very nice Vintage Lucas Military Vehicle Inspection Lamp For A Landrover Series 1/2/3 FV157949 made from a beige coated ferrous metal (steel).
The original two-pin plug has been changed into two clamps by the previous owner, probably so he could power it from his car battery...
In pretty good used condition with some surface scuffs and blemishes. The lamp has no hanging hook but the holes are there to fit one. It is being sold as a collectible but it is in working condition.
The NATO stores paper label has long gone but it should be labelled as follows:- LV6/MT3, 6230-99-942-7876 Inspection lamp 61414. There are no maker's mark on the lamp.

This type of lamp was made by J Lucas Ltd, Birmingham, who also supplied a solid brass version of the inspection lamps to the car market for prestige cars such as Bentley, Rolls Royce, Lagonda and Daimler. The plugs were also designed to fit an aircraft's 12 volt electrical system for use by the Navigator for map reading or the Radio Operator for illuminating instruments.
