Vintage GEC BCS 2290 Current Fed Lip Microphone

This wonderful looking mic is a Vintage GEC BCS 2290 Current Fed Lip Microphone. We've haven't been able to find any information on this mic but, based on the catalogue number, it dates to about the 1930s/40s. Used for outside broadcast, it looks like a military field microphone.

The metal label on the side reads:

• Mic Depth including lip: 7.4cm

In very good cosmetic condition, with a few surface scuffs/blemishes in the paint commensurate with age and use. The black lead is cracked in parts. It's not been tested.
