Art Deco Combination Brass & Red Enamel Compact & Cigarette Case

This is a very elegant Art Deco Combination Brass & Red Enamel Compact & Cigarette Case. It is often referred to as the 'camera' due to it looking like an analogue folding camera. 

In fair condition, with some loss of enamel, and some pitting/discolouration of the brass. I haven't attempted to polish the brass as I wanted to retain the original patina.

Most of these types of compact were Made in France and often sold as a souvenir.

It comprises:

• A lipstick holder that slides in and out of one side. There is lipstick in the holder but I don't recommend that you use it...
• A spring loaded powder compartment with intact mirror. There is no powder present. Mirror is about 4cm in width and 5.5cm in height.
• On the other side there is a push-pull lid which, when pulled up, reveals a cigarette holder and place for a few matches. I'm not sure if the cigarette holder, (approximately 73 mm in length) is large enough for modern day cigarettes. 

A beautiful design which exudes sophistication. The inside is pretty clean with a few scratches but I am unable to find a maker's mark.

A great tobacciana or cosmetic collector’s item, which is a handy size for a handbag or laptop bag.
