1996 Girardini Copper & Forged Steel Mantel Clock
This is a very stylish and functional 1996 Girardini Copper & Forged Steel Mantel Clock.
Made by Ken and Julie Girardini of Sykesville, Maryland, USA. Signed and dated Girardini 96 on the base. Cold finished steel is cut, welded, ground and finally coated with a lacquer finish to protect the surface. The face of the clock is a beautifully polished warm copper, which provides a wonderful contrast with the steel surround.
It’s a very nice piece of handmade functional art sculpture, which just happens to be a quartz battery operated clock! You won’t find another identical as these clocks are individual pieces and not mass produced,
Approximate Dimensions:-
- Diameter Clock Face: 15cm (6″)
- Height: 24.2cm (9.5″)
- Base Depth: 6cm
- Base Width: 28.5cm
The clock is in good working condition with no cracks, chips or restoration. It does have some surface scuffs and scratches on the copper face and steel surround, which we haven’t tried to remove. The surface finish (lacquer) is also missing on some parts of the clock. It runs on a 1.5 volt AA battery which is not included.
