1960s Military Type 16A Bakelite Microphone Hand Set ZA 32986. New Old Stock
This wonderful looking piece of militaria is a 1960s Military Type 16A Bakelite Microphone Hand Set ZA 32986. New old stock.
A hand-held carbon microphone with push-to-talk button. Used with British military transmitters. Forums suggest that it will work with the 18 set, 62 set and the remote units of the 22 set, but I am unable to confirm this.
It comes in its original box labelled T1 ZA 32986 Microphone PPQ-1
Made from black bakelite and stamped with Microphone Hand No.16A ZA. 32986/ ZA 12672 on the mouthpiece and ZA 25004 on the cord. It doesn't have a plug.
A 'see-saw' on/off switch is mounted on the side
Marked with the military broad arrow
Approximate Handset Dimensions:
- Face Diameter: 6.5 cm
- Height: 17 cm
- Max Depth: 3.5 cm
In excellent cosmetic condition, with a few surface scuffs/blemishes commensurate with age and storage.
A nice bit of military history to add to your collection!
