This large valve is a 1957 MOD CV1504 Half-wave High Voltage Rectifier Valve. In very good cosmetic condition, with a few surface scuffs and blemishes, it has not been tested and is sold as a collectible for display only.
Purportedly designed for use in X-Ray equipment, this particular valve was manufactured by United Electronics Co., Newark, NJ, USA, however, this valve type was also made by several different manufacturers including Ediswan, who produced the prototype (V1901).

10E/150 (where 10E is the RAF stores reference for Magnets and Radio Valves (Industrial Types))

Summary:-
- The filament consists of two hairpins of tungsten.
- The filament is marked VU504 on one side and 9K-145 on the other.
- The valve has the designation VU504 = 10E/150= CV1504
- 16.5V/15.2A filament, 60kV/40MA rating.
- Base: Edison E27 screw fitting (27mm)
Since it is unlikely that collectors will use them as intended, some people have looked for alternate uses and have even converted them into novelty lamps!
