1940s Air Ministry Aircraft UV Cockpit Lamp Type B No.2 5C/2676
This is a 1939 WW2 Air Ministry Aircraft UV Cockpit Lamp Type B No.2 5C/2676. It comes with its original Air Ministry printed and engraved stamps. I'm unable to test it so I don't know whether or not it is working.
It is in pretty good condition with surface blemishes and loss of paint commensurate with age and use. The rubber seal, used to protect the lamp head, has hardened with age. The glass is speckled (probably from new) and there is a slight dent on the side.
We believe these lamps were located on the instrument panel of such aircraft as the Hawker Sea aircraft and, post-WW2, the Avro Vulcan, and were used to light the instrument display.
Labelled with the RAF store code 5C/2678 and 5C/2676.
A fantastic piece of Aircraft memorabilia to add to your collection!
