1935 Set Of Four STC Crystals For A Wireless Set Number 7 (WS7)

A vintage 1935 Set Of Four STC Crystals For A Wireless Set Number 7 (WS7) made by ST&C limited (Standard Telephone & Cable).

The WS7 was a mobile crystal controlled transmitter / receiver mainly used for military tank communication. It had a range of 3-5 miles, and a frequency range of 1.875-5MHz. It was soon replaced by Wireless Set 9 (WS9).

Made from brass and glass, these crystals have the following frequencies, which is etched on to the glass. They also have a second number, in parentheses below, etched on the brass base. The crystals have not been tested and are sold as a display item only.

• 3700 k/cs (2146 is etched on the brass base)
• 3600 k/cs (3092)
• 3580 k/cs (2766)
• 3460 k/cs (4444)
