Vintage Royal Standard Somerset Bone China Trinket Dish 13cm Diameter
This is a beautifully delicate, and small, Vintage Royal Standard Somerset Bone China Trinket Dish 13cm Diameter. It is eight-sided, octagonal, with fluted gilded edges and a fluted base. The base is almost as pretty as the face!
The face measures approximately 13cm (5.1″) in diameter and is decorated with the Somerset pattern comprising lilac, pink, blue and beige flowers, (corn flowers?) with green leaves and stems. The base measures ~8cm (3.2″) in diameter and is white. Hold up to the window and the china is so thin you can see the decoration on the face.
You could use it as a sweet/ candy dish, for trinkets and jewellery or, since it is so beautiful, just for display (accessories in the photo are not included).
It is in very good condition with no cracks, chips or restoration, with slight loss of gilding on the edges. It probably dates to the 1940s/50s.
The Manufacturer’s back mark is as follows:-
