WW2 WS31 Microphone Hand Type No.13 ZA 17605

This interesting piece of militaria is a WW2 WS31 Microphone Hand Type No.13 ZA 17605.  Also used with a WS19, according to Wireless for the Warrior by Louis Meulstee.

The WS31 was a VHF man-pack wireless set and similar to the American BC-1000.

Made from black bakelite and stamped with the army stores reference, Mic Hand No.13 ZA17605, and G1 , it is in pretty good condition other than some surface scratching commensurate with age and storage. It is sold as seen, without connectors or mouthpiece cover.

A hand-held carbon microphone with push-to-talk button mounted on the side. Used with British military transmitters.

Approximate Dimensions:

  • Diameter: 7 cm
  • Max Depth: 5 cm (including the mouthpiece)

A nice bit of military history to add to your collection!
