WW2 War Finish Miniscope Cathode Ray Oscilloscope CRO Pattern Number 53259
This portable 1940s WW2 War Finish Miniscope Cathode Ray Oscilloscope CRO Pattern Number 53259 is in its original brown leather covered carry case.
It is sold as a collectible, restoration project only, and has not been tested.
There is no Maker's mark but it bears the same name and is very similar in appearance to the later GEC Miniscope introduced in 1947, (see adverts), and is probably an early prototype.
Condition:- (see images)
- The grey coloured Miniscope (small and portable CRO) is in fair condition with quite a few surface scratches, rust and blemishes.
- The leather covered board transit case is worn with surface blemishes / creasing but is intact.
- Connectors are included but they are pretty worn.
- The leather handle has broken and the pieces are missing.
The Ocilloscope Museum has the same version, Pattern no. 53259, albeit in very good condition by comparison!
A popular portable device with WW2 engineers as it enabled them to do some electrical testing without needing a test bench.
