WW2 RAF Air Ministry Type 27 Microphone 10A 12572
This wonderful looking mic is a RAF Air Ministry Type 27 Microphone 10A 12572. The type 27 was often used with an E or G series oxygen mask
The front of this ball shaped microphone is made from bakelite, and the back is non-ferrous metal stamped with Ref No. 10A/12572. A 'see-saw' on/off switch is mounted on the rear.
Approximate Microphone Dimensions:
- Face Diameter: 4.9cm
- Height: 5.5 cm
In very good cosmetic condition, with a few surface scuffs/blemishes in the paint commensurate with age and use. The rubber grommet is still intact. A small piece of bakelite has broken off the lower rim on the bakelite face: this would be on the base when displayed.
A nice bit of WW2 history to add to your collection!
