WW2 Marconi Marine 365A Transmitting Morse Key By MIMCo
This is a WW2 Marconi Marine 365A Transmitting Morse Key By MIMCo, Serial Number 8963. It was manufactured in the early 1940s by the Marconi International Marine Communication Co. Ltd (MIMCo) of Chelmsford, UK.
According to the metal label this is a type 365A, No.8963, MOD to WQ10312 Ed.A equivalent to type 365B.

The key has an ebonite button and grey painted brass base, and sleeve bearings as opposed to roller bearings. It has the original grey painted brass housing which are often missing as they made quite handy ashtrays!
In good cosmetic condition with surface blemishes and scratches commensurate with age and use.
Comprising three connecting blocks, the 365 A model was fitted with two coils, two capacitors, and an auxiliary contact at the rear to desensitise the receivers on 'key down'
The 365 series transmitter key was often used with e.g. the Marconi Oceanspan ship's radio system as seen in the image below.
