WW2 Aircraft Voltmeter 0-40 Volts 5U/1693 New Old Stock

This lovely little black coated meter is a  WW2 Aircraft Voltmeter 0-40 Volts 5U/1693 and New Old Stock in its original box. 

In very good condition with some surface marks/dust.  I can't find a makers mark but it may be The Weir Electrical Instrument Co.Ltd. The brown cardboard box is intact, although the staples have rusted with age and the box is creased with tears and discolouration.

Approximate Meter Size:

• Base Diameter: 5.5cm 
• Depth: 5.5 cm
• Face Diameter: 6cm

The meter and/or box have the following markings:

• AM Ref No. 5U/1693; where  5U is the RAF reference number for Electrical - Aircraft Generators
• Range 0-40 Volts
• Moving Coil Voltmeter
• Ser. No. 342568
