WW2 Vintage Wireless Set WS19 / WS53 Control Unit No.6 Mk2/1 ZA28563

A British Army WW2 Vintage Wireless Set WS19 /WS53 Control Unit No.6 Mk2/1 ZA28563.

Approximate Size (WHD): 16.3 x 8.3 x 14.7 cm

In very good cosmetic condition, with a few surface scuffs and blemishes, it looks unused. It has not been tested and is sold as seen. Comprising a metal unit with black bakelite switches, and fitted with a Flexo rubber lead and two 12-pin sockets.

Different vehicles required different control units to accompany their WS19/ WSF53. 

According to Louis Meulstee's Wireless For The Warrier Volume 2, the control unit no. 6 MkII/1  was used with a WS19/WS53 in Armoured Command Vehicles (ACV) 6x6 HP: (see images, with the control unit marked by a red arrow on the circuit schematic). The ACV used the WS53 for long range communication and the WS19 for shorter distances.
