This is a 1920s/30s Vintage Synclock Precision Time Interval Meter Made By Everett Edgcumbe Serial No. 763536.
A wonderful example of an antique piece of scientific equipment, based on a Synclock motor, being sold as a collectible for display only. An item not often seen for sale as it is now considered a museum piece.
The black bakelite 'Timer' unit, fitted into a bespoke oak wood box, is in excellent cosmetic condition but has not been tested. The wood box has surface scratches and blemishes but is intact. Instructions are screwed to the inside of the lid and the original stores label is attached to leather covered metal handle.
Timer marked:-
- Synclock Motor Supply: 230 Volts. 50 cps
- Long hand makes one revolution in 1 second
- The short hand makes 1 revolution in 10 seconds
Manufactured by Everett Edgcumbe of Colindale Works, Hendon, London, NW9. A company founded in 1901 and closed by the 1960s, it was known for the following brands; Radiolab Radio Testing Apparatus, Superscale Electrical Measuring Instruments and Synclock Electric Clocks.
