Vintage Swiss Hand Carved Wood Figure Of A Man With A Hat. Lugano Folk Art Souvenir

This is a very cute Vintage Swiss Hand Carved Wood Figure Of A Man With A Hat. Lugano Folk Art  Souvenir, possibly made by Anri or Dobin. Dating to the 1960s/70s, it was bought as a souvenir by a family member on an extended trip to Switzerland.

In pretty good condition with some surface blemishes and discolouration, it only weighs 10g and is pretty small.

Approximate Size WHD:  3 x 6.6 x 2.3 cm

Rustically carved / whittled, the figure is a caricature of a typical black forest / Tyrol man sporting a black hat, marked in white with Swiss place name 'Lugano,' with his hands in the pockets of his brown trousers. He is wearing black shoes, a white shirt with waistcoat, and a coat with a long tail.

The dark wood has been lightly coloured with dye which looks stronger in the images than in reality. Number 2 is marked on the base.

The photos were taken with/without flash hence the colour differences. The actual colour is much darker.

A nice piece of treen for the collector!
