Vintage Steering Column Mount Indicator Switch In Black Bakelite

This is a nice piece of automobilia in the form of a Vintage Steering Column Mount Indicator Switch In Black Bakelite with a red bakelite end.

Made in Germany, it dates to the 1960s, and was available as an after-sales accessory. Unlike modern indicator switches, this was not designed to self cancel.

The indicator switch secures to a round steering column, (with a maximum diameter of 4.0 cm), using the metal band clip.

Approximate Size: 

• Maximum Base Width: 5.5cm
• Stalk Length including knob: 11.8 cm
• Base Depth: 3 cm
• Total Length, excluding metal clip:  17.5 cm

In fairly good original condition, there are some nibbles in the bakelite around the base hole, and a few surface scuffs and scratches. It has not been tested so I don't know whether or not it is working.
