Vintage Staffordshire Flat Ceramic Bank Money Box
This is a wonderful Vintage Staffordshire Flat Ceramic Bank Money Box. In good condition, with no chips, cracks or restoration, we think this is a reproduction Staffordshire flat dating to the early 20th Century (1910-1930s). It's been in our family for over 60 years. There are no makers marks.
Hand painted only on the front of the house, styled as an old fashioned bank, the rear of the house is flat and unpainted. There is an opening in the chimney for notes and coins but there is no stopper or method of removing the money other than trying to retrieve it through the slot or breaking the bank!
It does have manufacturing defects, including crazing, pin holes, bubbles and other blemishes in the glaze.
Approximate Size:-
Width: 10.2cm
Depth: 6.2cm
Height: 12.7cm (~5")
A nice gift for a collector of Staffordshire Flats or money boxes!
