1950s Vintage Smiths Brass Fan Shaped Mechanical Wall Clock

This is a beautiful, and scarce, 1950s Vintage Smiths Brass Fan Shaped Mechanical Wall Clock.

It has Made in Great Britain by Smiths Clocks & Watches Ltd stamped on the movement. This dates it to post 1955.

In very good working condition with a few surface blemishes in the brass. The face appears to be covered with some kind of quilted/padded fabric, with brass hands and brass hour markers. The face looks pretty clean.

As the surround is made from a good quality solid brass and has a 1950s Smiths mechanical movement, its quite heavy for its size. The clock has quite a loud tick and kept reasonable time over a 48 hour period but, like any clock of this age, the mechanism would probably benefit from a professional clean to ensure perfect time-keeping.
