Vintage Siemens Brothers Slide Wire Potentiometer In Wood And Brass

This simple piece of Physics laboratory equipment is a Vintage Siemens Brothers Slide Wire Potentiometer In Wood And Brass.

Made by Siemens Brothers & Co, Electrical and Telegraph Engineers of Woolwich, London, SE18.  It dates to about the 1930s, or possibly earlier, and is in pretty good condition with a few scratches/blemishes in the wood and pitting in the brass .

It measures resistance in a conductor between 0 to 0.01 ohms in 0.001 ohm increments. I'm not sure whether it should actually be called a Wheatstone bridge, Kelvin Bridge, Ohmmeter or Potentiometer!  It has not been tested, and is sold as a collectible for display only.

Beautifully made from hard wood and brass, it has 4 connector terminals and is labelled:-

Siemens Bros & Co. London

Ohm Compensated

Approximate Size WHD : 36.6 x 5 x 6.8 cm
