Vintage RT22 Roberts Transistor Radio Made For The BWBF

This 1970s/80s portable, battery powered, Vintage RT22 Roberts Transistor Radio Made For BWBF, (The British Wireless For The Blind Fund), is in very good original used working condition. It is housed in a wood cabinet which has red leatherette with black and chrome accents.

Fully checked and cleaned, it is in working order on all wavebands (VHF/MW/LW), as well as being in good cosmetic condition with a few minor scuffs/blemishes: there is slight corrosion on the metal handle.

Approximate Measurements:  24.5 x 10.6 x 7.5 cm / 9.6 x 4.2 x 3 inch

  • Requires a 9 volt PP9 battery/cell (not supplied due to the difficulty in shipping items with batteries).
  • Sporting a matching metal and plastic carry handle, it stands on a turntable disc on the base.
  • The top of the radio is silver in colour with black accents. The radio is complete with original volume and tuning knobs, four buttons for on/off and the three wavebands, and Roberts badge.
  • The battery box is clean with no sign of any spills or rust.
  • The set has 11 transistors  and a socket for an earphone (not supplied).

Reliable, chic stylish and a style icon, this beautiful radio would be a welcome addition to any radio collection or as a retro period statement piece home accessory.
