Vintage Royal Worcester Evesham Gold 2 Pint Storage Jar / Marmite Pot / Bean Cooking Pot
This is a lovely example of a small Vintage Royal Worcester Evesham Gold 2 Pint Storage Jar / Marmite Pot / Bean Cooking Pot. It has a lid but it isn't airtight. You could also use it to store dried food and those fancy biscuits that don't last long as they're too moreish!
We have one remaining piece in stock, which belonged to my late Mum-in-law.
The pot is in pretty good condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. There is some slight loss to the gilding in parts. There are also a few black specks and air holes that have been there since the pot was first fired. The neck of the pot is scuffed from contact with the lid.
- Diameter of base ~ 11.5cm
- Height from base to lid top ~ 15.5cm
- 2 Pint
This particular piece was 'Made in England' and dates to the 1970s. A marmite (pronounced Mar-Meet not Mar-Myte as in the 'love it-hate it' yeast spread) is a type of French cooking pot used for slow cooking/braising, soups and stews. It's also known as and used as a bean pot.
The Evesham range features assorted fruit and corn cob still-life designs that look virtually lifelike. These designs are beautifully contrasted against a white background and striking gold trim! The Evesham range was originally designed by Prof. Robert Baker, R V Ruyckevelt & the Worcester design team in 1962
