This Vintage Scientific Instrument/Gadget/Meter is sold as a collectible only. Dating to the 1940s/50s, it is in fair cosmetic condition with surface scuffs/loss of paint and scratches. It is measuring domestic air temperature but I can't attest to its accuracy.
It measured outside air temperature (OAT) in degrees celsius, with the instrument mounted through the windshield/cowling so that the shaft is external to the aircraft and the gauge readable from within the aircraft.
The gauge we have for sale has the RAF stores number 6A/1055308 where 6A= Aircraft Engine and Flying Instruments, Accessories and Spares
