Vintage RAF Warning Rotary Siren In Grey Metal With Mount

This small Vintage RAF Warning Rotary Siren In Grey Metal With Mount is in very good condition with some surface scratches and blemishes commensurate with age and use.

I can't find another like it and I don't know when it was manufactured or who made it: there is no maker's logo. 

We have powered this siren from a bench PSU to a maximum voltage of 30VDC at approx. 300mA but feel it needs a higher voltage to achieve the proper alarm frequency. There is no data plate on the unit stating voltage but it did come from a RAF airfield in Scotland many years ago...

It's pretty heavy with an unpacked weight of 2.0 Kg, and has a horizontal mounting plate on the base !  A great collectible for those whom love industrial design and artefacts.
