Model Sailboat Star Pond Yacht SY1

This wonderful looking vintage model pond yacht was made by the world renowned Star Yacht of Birkenhead, UK, whom were known for their high quality model boats and racing yachts.

This model, SY1, has a red finish with a red keel, and white masts and rigging. It has a white lined deck. There is a gold decal label on the deck with ‘Star Yacht Guaranteed to Sail, Birkenhead, Made in England.’ Junior model of the ‘Star’ series of toy boats. Rigging is hinged to the deck and the metal fixings are nickel plated and electro-brassed.

In fair cosmetic condition, with paint chips/surface scuffs and a broken mast. The sails are showing their age, and I don’t think the rigging has been ever been correctly threaded. New sails and masts can be purchased on the internet.

In order to photograph the boat, I temporarily fixed the sails to the mast with sticky tape. This has now been removed, hence the sails/mast/rigging cannot be erected without some repair.

With remedial work, this would make a fantastic addition to a model boat collection! The price has been reduced to reflect condition.
