Vintage Lucas Military Vehicle Inspection Lamp For A Land Rover Series 1/2/3 FV157949

A very nice Vintage Lucas Military Vehicle Inspection Lamp For A Land Rover Series 1/2/3 FV157949 made from a beige coated ferrous metal (steel) with the original two-pin plug.

In pretty good used condition with some surface scuffs and blemishes. The lamp still has its hanging hook. It is being sold as a collectible but it is in working condition.

The NATO stores paper label has long gone but it should be labelled as follows:- LV6/MT3, 6230-99-942-7876 Inspection lamp  61414. There are no maker's mark on the lamp. The lamp is engraved FV157949.

This type of lamp was made by J Lucas Ltd, Birmingham, who also supplied a solid brass version of the inspection lamps to the car market for prestige cars such as Bentley, Rolls Royce, Lagonda and Daimler. The plugs were also designed to fit an aircraft's 12 volt electrical system for use by the Navigator for map reading or the Radio Operator for illuminating instruments.
