Vintage Lektrik Brass / Brown Ceramic British Toggle Light Switch
For all collectors of period homewares or Architectural salvage, we have a genuine Vintage Lektrik Brass / Brown Ceramic British Toggle Light Switch. It dates to about the 1930s.
The face is brass and the back is black painted brown vitreous ceramic.
The switch is not up to current IEE regulations. It has not been restored or tested, and is sold as a collector’s item only.
Approximate size:
Base Diameter: 6.4 cm
Approximate height (base to tip of switch): 6 cm
It is in fairly good vintage condition. There are a few scuffs/scratches on the surface of the metal and some pitting. I haven't attempted to polish it as some people prefer to see the patina.
Ceramic base is embossed with:
By Royal Warranty To HM The King
Regd Lektrik Trademark
Patents:
131/01
17410/00
84 9/03
The Royal Warranty was probably granted by King George V: 1910-1936.
Lektrik was the trademark of AP Lundberg & Sons, founded in 1882. They manufactured electrical lighting and accessories at their factory, Pioneer Electrical Works, 3-15 Paradise Passage, Holloway, London N2
