Vintage Hans Schleger Style London Green Line Bus Stop Request Sign
This nice looking original transport plaque is a ferrous metal Vintage Hans Schleger Style London Green Line Bus Stop Request Sign. It dates to the 1950s/1960s.
Painted in the green, white, and black colours of the Green Line brand, it is in pretty good used condition. There are a few scuffs/scratches on the sign, and the rear of the sign is rusty.
The images were taken both in and outdoors, hence the differences in lighting/shadows.
A very nice addition to a sign collection or an interesting garage wall feature!
Approximate Size:
Width of Sign: 44.8 cm
Height: 39cm
The combined Bus and Coach stop flag signs were introduced in the suburban and rural Green Line London bus and coach routes. They were set, horizontally, into a bronze frame. This particular single-sided sign forms one part of the bus flag. The roundel design is based on that introduced by Hans Schleger in the 1930s.
