Vintage Hand held Pocket Watch Ammeter
This 1920/30s Vintage Hand held Pocket Watch Ammeter is a wonderful design, and an unusual alternate use for a pocket watch case!
In fair condition, there is some discolouration, loss of chrome, and surface scuffing commensurate with age and use. It has not been tested and I don't know whether or not it is working. It comes with its original leather pouch, which is worn but intact with a couple of tears on the base.
The Ampere scale is 0-25.
Approximate Size: 5.7 cm in diameter & 2.5 cm in depth.
It resembles the generic radio test meters made in Europe during the same time period. This particular ammeter was made in Britain.
This piece of vintage technology would have been carried around in a pocket as a handy tool for the engineer to make a quick (but not necessarily accurate) measurement. It now makes an interesting display item for a vintage engineering tool collector, or a tactile desk ornament. (NB: it is unable to stand upright on its own).
