Vintage GPO Electrical Clock Pulse Type 62A
This unusual looking gadget is a, 1950s, Vintage GPO Electrical Clock, Pulse Type 62A, sitting within an Oak Case With Glass Window. They were used for timing functions in telephone exchanges and driven by the exchange master clock.
This particular clock has not been tested but is in very good cosmetic condition with some scuffs and wear commensurate with age and use.

The maker is unknown but many of these clock mechanisms were manufactured by the well know clock maker, GENTS. It was designed to be wall mounted (fixtures and fittings are not included).
Clock has the following markings:-
TPD RK (on the front of the case)
and the following on the rear of the case:-
GPO 62A DCA 59/2 (this dates it to 1959)

30 second and one second pulses were required to drive the clock, and these were derived from the master clock (Clock No. 36- not included). A Bell, No. 48A, was usually provided, (not included). It would ring for 30 seconds every half hour until the Clock No.62A was switched off.
The terminal arrangement permitted ‘start and reset’ or ‘continuous’ operation.
A great addition to a clock collection or office display.
