Vintage GEC BCS 2290 Current Fed Outdoor Microphone

This wonderful military looking mic is a WW2 Vintage GEC BCS 2290 Current Fed Outdoor Microphone. We've haven't been able to find any information on this mic but, based on the GEC catalogue number, it dates to about the 1930s/40s.

Made from metal, with a black hard plastic handle, this is a very robust design for a microphone intended for outside use. It is probably a military field / tank hand held microphone.

The metal label on the side reads:

• Mic Depth including lip: 7.4cm

In very good cosmetic condition, with a few surface scuffs/blemishes in the paint commensurate with age and use. The black lead is cracked in parts. It's not been tested.
