Vintage Fluorescent Flexarm Desk Lamp By The Art Speciality Co. Chicago
We have available an absolutely beautiful, polished aluminium, 1950s Vintage Fluorescent Flexarm Desk Lamp By The Art Speciality Co. Chicago, which was established in 1932.
This type of lamp was used extensively in offices and government establishments; think Mad Men and 1950s U.S Police departments!

- Lamp Head depth: 9cm
- Base Width: 13.6cm
- Base Depth: 17.2cm
It’s in very good condition. The goose necked hood can be adjusted to optimise the light positioning. The base is aluminium and the head is made from steel. If you look underneath the base, you can see that the lamp was originally brown in colour and has now been stripped back to bare metal. I have taken a number of images in different lighting conditions so that you get an idea of what the lamp looks like in a lit room and daylight natural light.
A great looking vintage industrial light for your home, office, workplace or for bench craft work. Wonderful iconic design; really special!
It is just waiting for you to add your own travel plug adapter (if outside the UK) or change the plug to one that is country specific. This wonderful looking vintage U.S lamp would complement any home décor but especially MCM (Mid Century Modern). A real statement piece, and it makes a great accent lamp!

Remedial Work undertaken:
Fitted with one new standard LED 110 to 240v tube, and rewired with an Earth and very dapper 3-core silver braided flex. In addition, the lamp has been lightly polished in conjunction with other remedial work. Accompanied by a Portable Appliance Testing (PAT), electrical safety and reliable operation should be ensured for many more years.

- New CE marked white plug top fitted along with a 3A fuse and an Earth.
- New 110 to 240 volt fluorescent LED light tube
Portable Appliance Testing undertaken (PAT): The lamp has been electrically tested using a flagship Seaward Europa Plus PAT tester, and passed the UK Portable Appliance Inspection.
