Vintage Bill Insulok Ceramic and Bakelite Electrical Fuse Box
This wonderful looking object is a Vintage Bill Insulok Ceramic and Bakelite Electrical Fuse Box.
It dates to approximately the 1930s (see advert from 1939 for a CAT 3002, this is a CAT 3000), and has blade type switch contacts. It was made by Bill Switchgear, Birmingham, UK.
The following is embossed on the face:-
Bill
Insulok
10 Amps 250 Volts
On/Off
Approximate Size: 10.5 (Height) x 10.7 (Width; including lever) x 7cm (Depth)
In pretty good condition but does have few nibbles in the porcelain and scuffs on the bakelite hinged door. The isolator switch/lever gives a reassuring click when moved from the on-off position and vice versa.
The item has not been electrically tested and would not meet current electricity standards and legislation. It is being sold as a collectible only.
