Vintage 9 Inch Chloride Gent Electric Slave Wall Clock
This is a beautiful Vintage 9 Inch Chloride Gent Electric Slave Wall Clock originally used in a post office (GPO).
It dates to the late 1970s/ early 1980s, and operates by synchronising time in a circuit with a Master clock (not included).
Approximate Size:-
- Back Diameter 27.5cm
- Face Diameter: 23cm ~ 9"
- Depth: 7cm
The black bakelite casing is in pretty good vintage condition with micro scratching and a couple of noticeable scuffs which I have tried to photograph- see last two images taken with and without flash. These are not readily noticeable when the clock is hung.
The face is chrome, with the hands and numerals in a contrasting black. Really easy to read from a distance.
Marked:-
Chloride Gent
Made in England
To operate on a 24 VDC parallel circuit 3000Ω
Manufactured by Gents of Leicester, taken over by Chloride in 1975 to briefly forming 'Chloride Gent' before selling to the MK Electric Group in 1982.
All in all, a wonderful clock which would need using with a master clock or converting if you wanted it hung on a wall in your home or office.
