Vintage 2-Day Jaeger Swiss Travel Alarm Clock In A Copper Plated Metal Case
This is an exquisite, working, Vintage 2-Day Jaeger Swiss Travel Alarm Clock In A Copper Plated Metal Case, dating to the 1930s/40s.
Beautifully made, pressing the button on top of the rose gold coloured clock case allows the lid to be flipped open to reveal the copper coloured clock face. The numerals and hands are outlined in black and luminescent making the time easy to read in the dark.
The manual wind alarm clock has a 2-day Swiss Jaeger movement and, according to the literature, is 7-jewel: (I haven't opened the clock to check for any distinguishing marks).
In good condition with surface marks and blemishes, commensurate with age and storage, predominantly where the plating has rubbed off.
Approximate Size:
Folded Case Width, Height, Depth (WHD): 8.5 x 2.4 x 5.6 cm
Clock Face Width (including surround): 5.6cm
It would probably require a CLA (clean, lube and adjust) service to guarantee accurate time keeping.
This style of Jaeger Travel Clock is similar to the Jaeger 'Ados' and was often used to manufacture clocks for luxury brands including Cartier and Hermès. The dial is sometimes marked Le Coultre instead of Jaeger, as used for this particular clock.
All in all a beautiful, and useable, collectible art deco alarm clock. You don't see many with this design or quality!
