Tandco No.35 Basketweave Inductance Coil In A Bakelite Casing For 1920s TRF Radio

An Antique Tandco No.35 Basketweave Inductance Coil In A Bakelite Casing For 1920s TRF Radio.

In very good cosmetic condition, it appears to have never been used. Probably manufactured by the Telegraph Condenser Company (TCC) or associated British makers, the "No. 35" indicates a coil with 35 turns of wire, primarily used for tuning crystal and valve-based radio receivers to specific medium-wave frequencies.

Cased in protective brown bakelite, to keep the cotton covered wire free from moisture and mechanically durable, they were designed to plug in to a standard pin based socket to enable a quick swap between different coil sizes depending on the user required wavelength or frequency.

Approximate Size:- Diameter: 8.3cm, Height: 11.8cm, Depth: 3cm

An interesting early radio / audio collectible which would look great as a lightweight desk ornament!
