SG Brown Head Phones Type F R2000 Ohms With Bulgin Deckorum Connector

These vintage 1920s/30s SG Brown Head Phones Type F R2000 Ohms With Bulgin Deckorum Connector are in pretty good working condition considering their age. A fantastic representative of radio/broadcasting history. A wonderful addition to a radio ephemera collection, and very stylish!

These Type F have Black bakelite earpieces, Aluminium earpiece cradle, and headband with the original leads. They culminate in a very rare connector with jack plug called the Bulgin Deckorum.

The headphones have a few scuffs and surface scratches commensurate with age and use. The outer part of the black cord is frayed in parts. They have been tested and they are working with a total output of ~ 1930 Ohms.

Some Trivia For You!

Patent 203121 was granted in 1923, and the headphones initially produced at SG Brown Ltd in Acton, London, UK. They were well known for their radio equipment, microphones and military radio. Brown’s described Type F head receivers as featherweight and having ‘dependability.’

The company was taken over by Racal Electronics Ltd in the 1980s.
