Pair of Royal Doulton Dickens Ware Berry Dishes Pattern Numbers D2973
A lovely Pair of Royal Doulton Dickens Ware Berry Dishes, Pattern Numbers D2973, dating to the 1930s.
Both dishes are beautifully printed with the trial scene including the character, Serjeant Buzfuz from Dickens novel 'The Pickwick Papers.'
They are both in very good condition with no chips, cracks or restoration but not identical due to their colour differences. One has good colouration and is obviously from the start of the manufacturing run, whereas the second has little colouration and must be from the end of the run.
The set does have small manufacturing defects including bubbles, gazing marks, and pinholes. There is also slight crazing and rim discolouration.
The base of each is marked with the Royal Doulton Dickens-ware stamp, their pattern number, and the character name "Serj Buzfuz."
Approximate Size:
- Top Diameter: 13.2cm
- Base Diamater: 7.7cm
- Height: 2.8cm
A highly decorative and very collectible set!
