This is a great distressed, single sided, Original Vintage Metal Garage / Petrol Station Warning Sign For Petroleum Spirit.

There is rust, scuffs with some loss/dulling of paint/colour, but generally it’s in fair condition for a wall mounted sign that has hung, been propped up, and generally unloved for many years.  Someone has even painted Out Of Order on the opposite side of the sign- wish I knew what was out of order! The edges have some corrosion but no serious splits or cracks.

The sign has two small holes and two larger holes for wall mounting. Fixtures and fittings are not included.

Dating to about the 1960s, it would have hung on, for example, the outside of a petrol station, garage, workshop or possibly even on the wall of the car deck on a ferry .

I have given the sign a gentle wash with soapy water to remove the surface dirt but not attempted to try to remove the rust. I actually quite like the patina as it is!

A lovely sign for the collector or just to hang on your garage/house wall!
