Miniature Vintage Brass Pump Tool Air Puffer

A highly collectible, Miniature Vintage Brass Pump Tool Air Puffer or is it an oiler or greaser?  It is made from solid brass and smells wonderfully of old garage workshops but other than that I haven't got a clue what it was used for!

In pretty good vintage condition, with scuffs and surface scratches commensurate with age and use. The slightly perished rubber topped metal spring plunger is still in situ and, when depressed, air blows out of the tiny hole at the other end of the tool. 

I haven’t polished the outside, as I like to keep the patina, and I can't find a maker’s mark. There is a long number on the inside of the plunger, see photo, which I can't read very well.

The style is very similar to Tecalemit tools.

Wonderful addition to a collection of vintage tools.
