An absolutely fascinating preowned book EJ Rudsale's Journal of Wartime Colchester Edited By Catherine Pearson.

Dating to 2010, the book is a compilation of Eric's journal entries from his WW2 role as a curator and air-raid shelter superintendent at Colchester Castle. Since Eric was a pacifist, the journals give an unusual perspective on wartime life in WW2 Colchester for those citizens left behind to manage this garrison town.

There are some wonderful black and white photographs in the centre of the book.
