WW2 Type H ACWEECO Universal AVO Minor Moving Coil Multimeter Air Ministry REF 10S/16

This amazing little gadget is a 1940s WW2 Type H ACWEECO Universal AVO Minor Moving Coil Multimeter Air Ministry REF 10S/16 made for the RAF.

A wonderful piece of electronic history, it does appear to be working but is being sold as a collectible only. It comes with a 3mm red and a 3mm black probe and the original Air MInistry stamped leather transit case (AM 10S/48). 

It measures:-

• DC Volts: 5, 25, 100, 250, 500 
  
• DC mA: 2.5, 5, 25, 100, 500 
  
• AC Volts: 5, 25, 100, 250, 500 
  
• Non-linear scale for 5 volts A.C
  
• Resistance 0- 20k ohm

The instrument was designed to take an EverReady U10 battery, which is now obsolete, and is not included.  An AA cell could be used with, for example, a spacer or modified spring.

The meter is in very good cosmetic condition with superficial surface blemishes.
